Review

At investment bank Shane Longman, not all the drama is played out in the office as the second series of Capital City returns to the hectic trading floor and its host of unusual characters. Between highflying Declan McConnochie (Douglas Hodge – Red Cap) and his attraction to fellow trader Michelle Hauptmann (Trevyn McDowell – An Ideal Husband), from volatile Jimmy Destry (Dorian Healy – Soldier, Soldier), the genuinely nice Chas Ewell (Jason Isaacs – Brotherhood) and eccentric Max Lupin (William Armstrong – Band of Brothers), there was never a dull moment in the lives and loves of the employees of this successful Bank.

The exceptional British actors that made up the main cast were also frequently joined by a variety of familiar faces guest starring in their first screen roles, including Clive Owen, Louise Lombard and Julia Ormond. The strong scripts and polished performances of CAPITAL CITY – THE COMPLETE SECOND SERIES transformed the background of a sterile financial institution into a decadent treat which is impossible to resist.
