The Army Game: Vol.1

The Army Game: Vol.1

Review

“I only arsked!”

A colossal success in its day, THE ARMY GAME featured the humorous shenanigans of a mismatched bunch of National Service conscripts assigned to the Surplus Ordnance Department at Nether Hopping. The series – which ran for 154 episodes over five years – featured the talents of William Hartnell, Alfie Bass, Charles Hawtrey, Bernard Bresslaw, Bill Fraser and Dick Emery and, after the first episode in June 1957, rapidly became a national phenomenon (spawning a spin-off series, movies and even a hit single!).

This set comprises the first of two volumes containing every single episode that remain in the archives. The episodes included on this volume are:

Snudge And Jimmy O'Goblin,
Take Over Bid,
Enter A Dark Stranger,
Snudge's Budgie,
Where There's Smoke,
The Camera Never Lies,
When The Poppies Bloom Again,
Miracle In Hut 29,
Night Train To Itchwick,
Officer And A Gentleman,
Tiger Bisley,
The Bisley Court Martial,
The Long Walk,
Happy New Year,
The Invisible Man,
Bowler Hatting Of Pocket,
The Soft Life,
Son Of Snudge,
A Rocket Called Fred,
Don't Send My Boy To Prison,
A Piece Of Cake,
Never Volunteer,
A Marriage Has Been Arranged,
The Good Old Days,
A Question In The House,
The Claude Snudge Story.
